Deconstructing the Idol
In the current art project, Alexandra Tătaru explores fragmenting and acknowledging the little knowledge she bestows on her role-models, and she tip-toes around the aesthetic possibilities generated by intertwining the known with the unknown. The indirect and unilateral relationship that Alexandra builds is based on information obtainable for a large audience so is therefore misguided, misleading and requires further fictionalizing of the person`s character. The awareness of this fictionalizing becomes the leitmotif of the exhibition. Each work is a playful visual experiment, pushing its own limits, and constantly redefining the relationship between the artist and her role-models, that she hasn`t actually met.
